Q) Can I change a flight path?
This first version of SkyTroller™ does not allow you to alter flight paths. In Air Traffic Control, the preferred method of separation is to change the altitude, rather than taking the plane away from the preffered route of flight.
Q) How can I tell when new planes enter the radar screen?
New planes entering the radar screen are indicated with a yellow circle around the plane. Information about the plane is also displayed on the Flight Strip at the bottom of the radar screen.
Q) How do I select a plane?
Touch a plane to select it. Selected planes will have a green circle around it, and the respective flight path will be highlighted.
Q) How do I know what altitude the plane is traveling at?
The altitude, or Flight Level, is displayed in a small box that follows each plane. When a plane is selected, the altitude of the selected plane is displayed in the Flight Strip at the bottom of the radar screen.
Q) How do I adjust a planes altitude?
With a plane selected, swipe your finger up to raise the planes by 1,000 feet. Swipe your finger down on a selected plane to lower the altitude by 1,000 feet.
Q) How do I tell if a plane is ascending or descending?
A red up arrow is displayed beside a plane when it is ascending, and a blue down arrow is displayed beside a plane when it is descending.
Q) How fast can planes change their altitudes?
In SkyTroller™, planes travel at 7 nautical miles per minute. 3 nautical miles are required to ascend 1,000 feet, but only 1.5 nautical miles are required to descend 1,000 feet.
Q) What constitutes a conflict warning?
Conflict warnings are used to indicate a possible collision. When this occurs, the planes involved are indicated with a red circle around each of them.
Q) What is a Critical Loss of Separation?
A critical loss of separation occurs when two or more planes collide with each other. In SkyTroller™, the game ends after 3 critical losses of separation.
Q) How do I change the game difficulty?
Tap on the Accelerate Game Play button found on the bottom left corner of the radar screen to increase or decrease the number of planes that appear on the screen.
